The thing is, melamine is a known toxin for animals and humans...So they're putting it in was doing so knowing that it could cause illness or death. Hence the reason the FDA is calling it an intentional poisoning attempt. Especially when you add into it about the hog feed...feed intended to go towards animals that would be consumed by the public. Luckily though, that feed was only sold to PRIVATE slaughter farms, rather then used commercially. |
