We have a long history of miscarriages of justice, some of which have ended in execution, others that have (recently) been so wrong, it has undermined the whole concept of "justice".
Having said that, it would be wrong to portray us Brits as unanimous about the issue. There are many who protest pretty vociferously about the reinstatement of the death penalty.
I think that it's easy for some of us Brits, therefore, to take the high moral ground on this (Over the US) |
