Or are you one of Rush's dittoheads?? | No I see the world by the responses I receive in this forum. When I present a rationale argument, I get not a rationale response but more slogans or better yet, conspiracy theories.
But Bush's tax cut favor the wealthy. Never mind the fact that thanks to the increase in the Earned Income Tax Credit, the poor actually got additional money back. Never mind the fact that thanks to the Tax Cut, President Bush added to the roles another 15 million people who qualified for not having to pay taxes. Just because the fact that the "rich" got a larger amount of money back the cuts are evil. However, simple logic, such as if you pay more you get more does not apply. Tell me what is a better deal, a 10% sale on an item that costs $1.00 or an item that say costs, $100, $1000, or even $10,000??? By definition all sales are equal, you saved 10%, yet when it comes to the real money, the 10 cents, or the 100 hundred bucks save is not equal now is it???
The story quoted goes to prove just that. Regardless of how it was broken down, you still had the rich paying more than half the bill, and the poor not really pay that much at all, yet they still complained, because the rich guy got the bigger monetary amount back.
dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles -Russell Kirk- |
