It would appear, that all on the subject of the Death penalty in the UK, use examples of those that suffered excution, a number of years ago.
But with morden DNA technics and other firm evidence, would it not be fair to assume a person found guilty by a jury, should face a term longer them 12 to 15 yrs.
When someone takes a life, first we have to examine, the reasons.
Was it intentional, or accidental. If intentional, I see no other verdict then death by what ever method is used.
If by accident, we have look at the circumstances.
I watched a program on the BBC as to a road in the North of England.
A young man who had been banned 5 times from driving, drove his car at speed trying to out drive a friend of his along this road, until finally he lost control. He crossed the Center reservation, and struck two young girls who were walking along the footpath. He hit them so hard their shoes and socks were found on the footpath. They both died, he was able to climb from the wreck and walk away.
Now two things, he was found guilty of dangerous driving and sentences to 5 yrs in jail, and banned from driving for 5 yrs, but two young innocent girls died
My thoughts are he gave up the right to live and I would have been happy to have helped him on his way. |
