Post Article on the Dead Sea
Mideast conflict slows Dead Sea rescue - Yahoo! News

I think this might be the best forum to discuss the Dead (Salt) Sea, which is shrinking. The link above is from Yahoo, but it was in most newspapers yesterday via AP.

I recently read a book authored by John Joseph Hutchins, about William Francis Lynch's 1848 expedition to that area. It is a good book, and if you can find it, I recommend you read it.

Here is a small snippet of it:

William Francis Lynch:

Anyway, with Israel having neighbors like Jordan, West Bank, the Palestinians, why can't they get along and try to save the Dead Sea before it dissappears in 43 years?

Locally. the San Diego Museum of Natural History will showcase the Dead Sea Scrolls, which requires a paid admission to this particular exhibit.

I don't know if this thread will garner any interest, but maybe it is worth discussing as far as politics and environments is concerned.
