Look at you bashing socialism like you think capitalism is actually healthy; look at America! Take your eyes of the glorious, amazing flag for a moment and just see what's happening in the world of the working class and in the world of every family who's just lost a loved one to an American bomb or bullet, and even in the natural world. | Really I didn't know that Iraq was the homeland of an Iranian, Egyptian and Syrian. The so-called insurgents are sure a melting pot of people. But then of course they are all muslim and middleeastern. Al Qaeda has made clear that it is waging a war against the west. The WTC in 1993, the USS Cole, Khobar Towers, the US embassies, and September 11th.
What has socialism ever really brought. The far-fetched notion that its the workers who give value to labor. To look at capitalism, we cannot really look at America. True capitalism has never been practiced here. We have a mixed economy. All the evils that have been prescribed to capitalism in this country, if you look closely, you will see that they arose from government intervention. We demonize business and capitalism, but through its limited use we have seen the standard of living of all rise. The difference between 1st world countries, and 2nd and 3rd world countries is capitalism. Freedom arises from the right to own property. Ford, Rockefellar,Vanderbilt, Carnegie, and even today Bill Gates have made the world a better place. They have provided means for us all to be healthier, happier, and more efficient. The workers may be the ones who make the products, but is the owners who risk capital to start the process. Without the idea, and the means of production, the worker can do nothing. In academics, athletics and the arts we applaud those who are outstanding. We celebrate those who are best at what they do, in every endeavor except business. Business and more importantly capitalism has been demonized long enough, for without them, where would this nation be. So yes, lets look at America. Its not perfect, but I don't see too many countries in which other people are literally dying to get into, do you???
dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles -Russell Kirk- |
