I agree with you that in many cases the Rules of Engagement are far to restrictive. It seems like every time one of our convoys had to pass through Kabul, and they did not have permission to return fire, they were attacked, but if they had permission they were not attacked...

I understand that we can not stoop to the level of the enemy, however I think we do need to understand that we are not combating conventional forces, and unconventional forces require unconventional methods. I could give dozens of tails where the RoE were overly restrictive, or worked to our severe disadvantage...
