Yeah, we could pack a lunch to take it inside the plane, but what are the chances that TSA will throw it away? I don't want to mess with that.

The third line of your post could very well be true. If I could get on a Greyhound bus that could travel the same speed as any jetplane, I'd leave the driving to them.
