My biggest problem with the death penalty
is that it is too liberally applied.

Should a person be put to death because, in a rage, he kills one person?

IMO, no.

I think the death penalty should be only applied to the most heinous criminals, ie, serial killers.

As the Innocence Project has shown, too many times an innocent person is convicted. Now there is a case in Missouri of a possible innocent man having been put to death.

Like in the case of John Wayne Gacy, where they dug up 25 bodies under his house, or Jeffrey Dahmer, where they found body parts laying around his apartment, there can be no question of guilt. Those are the only cases, IMO, that should be put to death.
