 Hybrids are not good enough, the fact that electric cars have been possible for centuries shows that. Tesla Motors is the way to go, IMO.
As for benefits beyond environmental:
-No gasoline, no oil, no extra hassel
-Can cross shallow streams since there is no tail pipe
-Can use aircondition while waiting in the car since there is no emmision
-Can charge at home, or at a station
