Because the story is true in the sense that if you do shock yourself your hand will tighten from the jolt of electric current firing your nerves and only a strong enough force to dislodge it will get it away. Thats why his jolt was so bad, yours was probably just a zap and pull away
Someone else tasered me, twice. The first jolt was about a second. The second one was about 2 seconds.
