Actually, I think they're more concerned with gaining the presidency next election cycle ( either one of them ). If Bush and Cheney leave office in 2009 untouched by impeachment the powers they have claimed for the office go to the next president.

Both sides are probably thoughtfully considering the overwhelming fact and very hopeful their side wins the office.
