At least...they did. Some still do...but I'm at a loss when it comes to what he is talking about. Even though it might be understandable in the wake of exploitation of third world countries, the ignoring of Africa, and especially Katrina and New Orleans, it's still an ill-conceived presumption.

As far as I know he's probably talking about the exploitation and subjugation of the poor, which generally the black American population happen to be a significant part. Plantations I assume to be the ghettos and inner-city.

Although its formation and past is rooted in racism, I doubt racism against blacks have much to do with it today. Most of it is "classicism", and I think his idea that this is mostly an international white plot against black people is very short-sided, ignorant, and avoiding the true roots of the problem. And perhaps it just makes the problem worse.

More association by color as with the former. He sees that the rich and those who own the means of production (bourgeoisie, and therefore masters of the proletariat [which in America is constituted greatly by African-Americans]) are predominantly white. More short-sidedness. He doesn't realize its a problem of class and has always been a problem of class. I think he will outright deny the fact that there are rich black business owners too.

Its similar to the old European personifications of the bourgeoisie as Jews (and in this case, instead of the international Jewish conspiracy, it's the international white conspiracy).

I agree completely. And I fear we're giving him too much attention than deserved.
