Teens Admit To Killing Baby Skunks With Paintball Gun

LEBANON, Ohio -- Three high school football players accused of using a paintball gun to kill two baby skunks and chasing and shooting at the baby's mother and sibling pleaded guilty Wednesday.

The 17-year-old players for Franklin High School entered their guilty pleas in Warren County Juvenile Court in Lebanon to charges of cruelty to animals, improper methods of taking game birds and wild quadrupeds and disorderly conduct.

The incident occurred July 13 at Hueston Woods State Park about 40 miles northwest of Cincinnati. Park officials said campers at the park saw the teens chasing the skunks with a paintball gun.

Eleven team members participated in the camping trip to Hueston Woods. The park features a paintball field and target range.

Sentencing for the teens is set for Sept. 12.
