I respect the Hell out of Elton John. He's eccentric as a moonbat.. but heck.. that's probably exactly WHY I can identify with him...LOL.
Musically, he's utterly amazing. Sure, most of his recent stuff is over-the-top cheesy. But then again, who doesn't get a little cheesy with age? The stuff he and Bernie Taulpin (sp?) did together is still just flat-out jaw-dropping.
And on top of that, he seems like a genuinley nice, pleasant person.
I think homosexuality being a "choice" is a pretty moot point by now.
Even those of us who question the "normalcy" of it (and that would include me) understand that it's common friggin' sense that there's no concious "choice" involved.
And I get a kick out of these people who still "worry", for instance, about their kid's science teacher being gay -- because it might "rub off" on the kid.
Like I can see myself back in high school, thinking:
"Gee, Mr. Smith is gay. So, you know what, I think I'll quit pasting my eyeballs on all these hot girls in designer jeans and just be gay. Yeah, if it works for Mr. Smith, I'm sure I can just ignore these girls and be gay."
Yeah, right... LOL!!! If at first you don’t succeed – try, try again and then quit. There’s no sense in making a damned fool of yourself. – W.C. Fields |
