I doubt any liquid could get hot enough to melt sweatpants. By that time it would turn to steam.

As I said, too much blood in my caffeine system.

I once stuck my hand into the coals of a camp fire. You would expect 3rd degree burns from that, but I only got severe 2nd degree. The length of time of contact with the skin has a lot to do with the severity of the burns.
