Insurance companies always deny stuff like that.

I guess the next step is to threaten them with a lawyer. Sometimes that helps.

I slipped on some ice at my mom's apartment building because of bad drainage and bad lighting. All I wanted was for them to pay my hospital bills, and they refused. I threatened to call a lawyer, next thing I knew they were asking for my hospital bills and they took care of everything.
