I miss all the regional accents from Britain. | I first thought New York was 'New Ya-ouk.' A hard part of english for Japanese or Koreans are one syllable works like 'york.' We will want to stretch it to two via 'yo-rk' with it sometimes sounding like "yo-rk'a".
At least the english in Queens was not as mangled as it is in the Bronx or Brooklyn.
As for Zee or Zed, I was forced into accepting the Zee way. My American teachers were very ignorant about Zed. I was not rebellious enough in school to start a fight about the proper pronounciation of Z. One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small,
And the ones that mother gives you don't do anything at all. |
