In Britain the most popular brand of condom is called Durex, and the word Durex is synonymous with condoms.

In Australia Durex is a brand of adhesive tape, like Scotch tape in America.

This has caused much confusion to Australians visiting Britain, and vice versa. The problem is that Scotch tape leaks.

Similarly, there is a dance, mostly in the southern states I believe, called the shag. I knew a girl from Atlanta who lived in London for a while.

One Friday evening her boyfriend arrived to take her out and asked what she wanted to do. She told him she felt like shagging all night.

For a short while he thought all his Christmases had arrived at once!
