And I know plenty of Americans who have lived outside of America.
Would you like to present some statistics that prove that a higher number of British than Americans have ever lived abroad? Or would you like to admit that you just spouting ethnocentric BS? | Brits travel abroad far more than Americans. Partly because we don't have far to go to get to another country, and partly because we have far more holiday time
But my initial point was about recognising different accents, rather than familiarity with regional variations in vocabulary. My experience has been that Americans aren't nearly as good as Brits when it comes to recognising accents, even in a cosmopolitan place like Los Angeles.
You were a bit too quick off the mark to try and create a confrontation. But it's ok I forgive you for that. |
