We turned on the TV just in time to see the second plane hit. We then left for the hospital, and made it just in time, because they ended up locking down all public buildings. No one was then let in or out for hours.
All in all, not a good day for me. Spencer ended up being admitted to the hospital, so I watched the drama unfold from his hospital room. | When I turned on the news to CNN Headline News, I saw the first building with smoke coming out. I had my Padres' work uniform on a hanger, and put that in my car, since I was to work later that day at the stadium.
As I was on my way to work, I heard that a second plane hit the WTC. I knew it was no accident.
Like the public buildings being locked down, the baseball games were canceled for a week, including the Padres.
It was like I spent the whole cowering from whatever would have come out of the skies. To me, that was war.
Hope Spencer is okay. Sounds like he had Hepatitus. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 |
