But, I don't think that a class that teaches any religion aught to be a required class in a public school.

Nor do I think that kids should be forced or coerced in any way in taking part in any sort of religious observance in a public school.

Make such classes and events entirely elective things and I personally don't have a problem with them taking place in public schools.
