That's good because that too is an idea that is very recent. And questionable.

Disorder and addiction are two entirely different things. Chemical imbalances are a disoerder, but they are by no means an addiction. Dysfunctional blood formations, lungs, kidneys, hearts etc., are disorders, but not addictions.
But the urge to continue in an orientation that has no real purpose and is proven to be a little risky might be considered an addiction. Just as heterosexual sexual addiction is.
