I think nearly all of the Democratic candidates support universal coverage in some form or another. But I think Clinton's is actually the most conservative. She believes that we can somehow provide affordable and adequate healthcare for all Americans by sitting at the table with insurance company lobbyists and coming to some form of compromise. She's setting her self up for failure and, like in the 90's, she'll be bought out again. Even if she did somehow get through her plan, I have very high doubts that it will provide adequate and affordable universal healthcare.

Dennis Kucinich is really the only one that is proposing a plan that is known to work by example and precedent, to give free, universal, and adequate healthcare. And that is similar to Britain's NHS or perhaps France's national system.

It's not socialism, but it's really the only liberal plan of all the Democratic candidates. The next in line is probably Edwards', which proposes a government plan be accessible to all Americans that would cost as much and provide for a plan much similar to what Congressmen/women receive with the Federal Employees Health Benefits Plan. Which has a possibility of developing into a single-payer system much like Canada's.

I believe Gravel has a pretty liberal program...but I'm not sure.
