The NFL rules state that you cant take video of game..but you can take still pictures...what is film...a series of still pictures taken 1 at a time quickly over a period of time so whats the harm of video?(im just tossing that in for fun )
But onto serious matter..What makes it any different that someone could be looking over on the opponents side of the field that has good vision and staring at the coach and see what he is doing with his arms and hands...THEN... writing down what he does and relay it up the the team press box whom takes still pictures of the play before AND right after the snap to see where the defense moves you could then compare the defense positions AND hand signals to see what they mean.
This isnt breaking the rules because NFL allows still photographs to be taken of the game and you cant fine a person for where he is looking with his own two eyes so...
Its either writing down the hand signals and matching them up with the still photographs and finding them that way OR the video way.
1 is legal and the other isnt yet they both follow nearly the same principal but different methods
Bilechick just seemed to of picked the wrong method | Before I respond, Hio; I need to apologize for the manner of my last post. It was way too snappy; and there was no reason for me to behave in that manner.
Okay, the only difference is that the rule spcecifically states "no videotaping". That is the difference between my point and yours. Belichick's understanding of it, and the fact that he proceeded to act upon this misunderstanding without having first sought clarification is where my issue lays. As I stated in an ealier post, I cannot accept the explanation that he didn't understand the rules. The words are pretty clear to even me.
Now, the other issue is just how long has Belichick's actions been going on? Yes, Goodell stated that the tape was seized early and that it had no effect upon the game's outcome. What about all the games before that this was going on (including a Super Bowl)?
Again, I apologize for my earlier words and hope that we can continue to debate on any such subject; whatever the topic. I will choose my words more carefully.
