Speaking of Aaron, did you know that when he was set to pass Babe Ruth's record; not only was he receiving death threats, there was a fledgling movement started to not recognize this achievment because Ruth played in a league that at the time did not recognize Blacks? I forget the name of this movement; I'd have to look it up. I know it was reported back then in my local (at the time) papers.
Ruth would have hit a lot more homeruns in Yankee Stadium in his days. It was like 465 feet from home to the centerfield fence in those days.
