Even though the Bosox's lead is now 2.5 games, they have a 7 game lead over Detroit in the wild card race, if it matters that we know or care.
Unless Manny Ramirez gets healthy, I think the Yankees may overtake the Red Sox next week, if not this weekend. What's the matter with Eric Gagne???
The Red Sox schedule: Today @ Toronto; Fri-Sat-Sun @ Tampa Bay; Tue-Wed (09/25-26) vs. Oakland; Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun (09/27-30) vs. Minnesota
Yankees: Today vs. Baltimore; Fri-Sat-Sun vs. Toronto; Tue-Wed-Thu (09/25-27) @ Tampa Bay; Fri-Sat-Sun (09/28-30) @ Baltimore | True, H80. I remember my father telling me something about the Yankees awhile back: If you are a betting man, there probably is nothing hat comes closer to being a safe bet than the Yankees making postseason. It will be very rare when they don't. Nothing like our local Chicago Cubs; whom make postseason every once in a blue moon- but are locked in a tie with the Brewers for a divisional lead! Personally, I think this is all great. Isn't this just a little (or a heck of a lot) better than trying to dissect all the stupid stuff going on today?
