I'm no longer a resident of Idaho, and I'll be damned if I'll pay the non-resident fees to hunt there. However, my oldest boy is of hunting age, so I might take him on a hunt in the canyon sometime soon. The best hunting spots I know are right near the Perrine Bridge, if you can believe that. I shot an absolute monster of a buck up under the canyon rim there in 2002.
One of the best canoe trips I had on the river is when a couple of friends and I put in at Centenial Park and rowed/paddled all the way up to the base of Shoshone Falls. We had to portage around Pillar Falls, of course. If at first you don’t succeed – try, try again and then quit. There’s no sense in making a damned fool of yourself. – W.C. Fields |
