I wasn't talking about gays directly. I was just talking about the concept of extending rights and why there needs to be boundaries sometimes.

As far as gays in the military, if there's even a hint of evidence that it might disrupt morale and weaken a unit's effectivness as a fighting force, then individual rights be damned... there's no place for it in that setting.

But if it can be clearly demonstrated that openly gay troops would NOT cause any disruption of morale and unit effectiveness.. then I have no problem whatsoever with openly gay people serving.
