Cruel? maybe. but this is where cracking down on illegal immigrant employment has to start. Why is it so hard to accept this? Is it because employers want to have prospective employees start work before verification? This was posed to me in a discussion as a source of discontent. What should we do? Verification Centers ? Possibly. The establishment of such could cut down mean time on such problems. What do you think? | Doesn't verification take quite a bit of time?
I think that most of the jobs that I have ever had, I started within 1 week after applying. And I have had at least one where they wanted me "tomorrow".
Somehow I think that if employers began waiting to verify matching social security numbers before hiring that the country would come to a grinding halt. Right now America spends $700 billion every year on foreign oil. That's our money going overseas when it could be staying here. We have to stop this. That's why I support the Pickens Plan.
