Actually, individual people can be successful, in a financial sense, if they want to be.

But, no matter how hard each individual within a population tries to be successful, there will always be a statistical spread of low income earners, middle income earners, and high income earners.

In essence, there are only so many jobs to go around whereby people make enough to afford their healthcare...at least as healthcare is handled today in the US.

And, if you ask me, the US needs a system whereby every US citizen has access to affordable healthcare no matter what their income happens to be.
