Do you understand how much we could benefit if we did not have to depend on foreign oil? Common sense.

This is a moot point because even if all the reserves in the entire world were tapped we do not have enough to supply our energy demands. Unless alternative forms of energy are developed life will be radically different in 10-15 years than it is today.
