Well, as Tristan said, 1,000,000 people were evacuated as of yesterday in these fires. If I thought that the Cedar Fire of 2003 was really bad, this to me is worst.

Qualcomm Stadium is still being used as an evacuation center. The San Diego State University game with Brigham Young was pushed back to Dec. 1. The NFL has not decided if the Chargers will host a home game this Sunday vs. Houston. I doubt that the Chargers will play at home that day.

Around Camp Pendleton, which is where the Marine Corps is located, I-5 is shut down in both directions between Oceanside and San Clemente. Amtrak and Metrolink have suspended their service. I was lucky to take the Coaster train this morning, even though it was 30 minutes later.

I donated more platelets yesterday at the local blood bank. There were people standing in long lines waiting to donate blood as well.

The American Red Cross is asking for monetary donations for the fire relief. Hope you can spare a few bucks.
