I believe that certain competition is both right and good. It can stretch the human spirit, even as in athletic competition, it stretches the physical to new limits.

But once competition is brought in to any social entity, you will have the nature of struggle. Jealousies, contentions, cheating, fear and insecurity, pride and disregard for others.

And just think of all those fathers watching Little League, wanting some vicarious satisfaction for their own athletic pursuits of bygone days!
