You see, I am not a Christian. I was brought up very strict Catholic, but God and I had a parting of the ways many years ago. Pretty bad break up, too. But I'm still a student of religion and belief, at least on an academic level. I find it interesting, the role it plays in people's lives.
My wife on the other hand, defines herself as a Christian. Not one of those holier than thou judgmental Christian-like people, but an actual love your brother, judge not lest ye be judged Christian.
So, we are raising our daughter to have an open and questioning mind, exposing her to Christianity and other belief systems, and answering her questions in ways that make her think, not conform. We don't know what role religion will play in her adult life, but we do know that it will be her informed decision to make. |
Yes, that was indeed the misunderstanding. |
