He may be behind in the Republican primary but I believe he is the most popular Republican candidate among the general population. Which is why I think he should run as an independent if (when) he does not receive the nomination, but unfortunately he 'has no plans' to do so.
The problem for his chances of nomination is that all the people donating all that money to him aren't all Republicans that would vote in the primary, but independents and Democrats too.
