I'm not saying anyone's lying. I'm sure there were vets for the war as there were against. Everyone likes to say they support the troops but they always turn around and politicize them to support their political agendas. The conservatives like to say the military has always been primarily Republican and pro-this or that war, and many liberals like to say the military is primarily anti-this or that war. The truth is, the military if anything is a microcosm of the greater voting population.
I've met vets who just don't get the peace protesting scene, and I've met many vets that are fully active in it, and are perhaps some of the more passionate ones involved. Quote:
Someone mentioned the homeless veterans, having known a few thanks to the VA, I have had the opportunity to hear their stories. The mention was meant to disparage the Bush Administration, well I turned the attack around and pointed a finger at one of the true causes. What caused these individuals to end up where they are, I always love to hear liberals talk about root causes, well this is one we never hear them talk about, I guess they hate the fact that the finger would lead right back to themselves.
When one addresses the issues one must be fair. I agree that the administration has done a terrible job with its treatment of vets, but this has been the case for several years, many of the problems can trace back to the 1970's. The deterioration began long ago, and continues under this adminstration, no different than under the last administration, or for that matter under Carter's or Reagan's of the first Bush.

| Granted, both the Democratic and Republican parties have a hand in the exploitation of our military and the neglect of our veterans. But I think it's disingenuous of you to ascribe such things to a political philosophy, or the adherents to a political philosophy, namely liberalism. Likewise, although it is a blatant disrespect, the people spitting on vets coming home from fighting in Vietnam have no sway over policy making nor is such behavior in anyway relevant to "liberalism".
