When I saw it I thought that would be the end for her. But it seems like Hillary's show of emotion attracted tremendous empathy from female voters, for whom the odd tear is more acceptable than it would be from a man. Even Pat Robertson was sympathetic to her plight (before the NH result) and said " regardless of your politics you have to feel for Clinton at a personal level". He's not well-known as a Clintonista!
So I decided my assessment of Hillary was too male-oriented, and overlooking the fact that women see many things differently from men.
That's another reason why I'd like to see Hillary win the presidency - to see how a woman would approach the job differently from a man.
I'd be very interested to hear other womens' opinions about Hillary's display of emotion and whether it affected their opinion of her, and how a woman might tackle the Presidency different from a man. Doggone it darn right you betcha bless your heart maverick |
