Notice America is more focused on Obama and Clinton, sure Obama is the first African American and Clinton the first woman but I think when comes down to it, America will go for Obama. (If this makes any sense, and if it doesn't I apologize, not on the ball at all today.)
Obama polls better up against Republican candidates if I'm not mistaken. Not only that but more people say the US is ready to elect an African-American as opposed to a woman. Your opinion seems to match the data.
