"Yes We Can" - yes we can what??

That's still my point about Obama. He makes plenty of breathless, inspiring speeches that nobody could disagree with, but what does it mean in reality?

I give full credit to his campaign staff and speech writers for portraying him as the "dawn of a new day" without actually saying what he stands for!

And with that theme his lack of experience is a big advantage - he doesn't yet have a closet to hold any skeletons!

BTW can you remember anything that George Bush ran on in his 2000 or 2004 campaigns?
Now you are starting to get my point. That point is that again; everytime Hillary or McCain even say the word "experience"; the American people will thinK: If you have so much experience, why is America in such the position it is in domestically, and in foreign affairs"? Those two have made the word "experience" a swear word, practically.
Obama has stated the changes he would like to make. They are not much different from what the others are saying. That's politics in America, Gary. You talk about want the people want to hear. That's how you get the attention. Why do you think that for years politicians at every level always talk about cutting or eliminating taxes? I'm positive you can think of several who make this promise!
Again; that doesn't make Obama any better than the others. You hit the nail on the head: but I would use different words. "He doesn't yet have a closet to hold skeletons"! Is this his fault? This is why I said what I did about experience.
Now look at this from this angle. We can agree that America wants a solution and an end to the war in Iraq, can't we? What do you suppose the voting public thinks now with this scenario?
Enter Mrs. Experience Hillary Clinton from stage left. "I can end the war and bring the troops home"! she shouts.
Since she originally supported this war, how does she look to the voters? Wait, it gets better here, Gary.
Now enter Mr. Experience John McCain from stage right. "We may be in Iraq for the next hundred years"! he claims.
Do you want to define experience now? Both Clinton and McCain have failed the American people, and failed miserably. The first job of a politician here is to prevent a war. When we must resort to war; the politicians have failed in their first job description: diplomacy.
So yes; while Obama may not have the "skeletons" in his closet, you can liken him to a choice in caregivers for your children. Do you choose from the two who have had a child seriously hurt in while in their care, even though they have been caregivers for many years? Or are you willing to take your chance on the new one; whom just became one? Because that is what the choice of the next President is like.
