I agree with you here, with my emphasis added. As long as people realize that this is the root of the issue, and just a tiny part of the whole issue, I'm OK with it. I mean, our lives and relationships are no more "all about sex" than yours. (I should be so lucky!)

The field of butterflies takes up a LOT more of our time than the sex does. The way we live is not much different from the way you live. I don't drive my daughter to school, pay my taxes, or play Scrabble in a gay way, any more than you take out the trash, water your plants, or do your laundry in a straight way.

The differences in our lives, honestly, are just not worthy of the homophobic stink that has been made about them. Applying just a bit of logic like this, I honestly don't know why anyone finds it to be a big deal.
Hell, the pool date sounds like a hoot.
