But isn't that the beauty of our Constitution???? The fact that we have the ability to change it when it is so needed. It is the Amendment process that makes our Constitution a living document.

But for once I will agree with you Katc, what other President's have done with the directive does make Bush look like a lightweight, but they were granted this power by a Congress who shirked the responsibility.

Washington sent troops against tax evaders, Lincoln suspended habeaus corpus, and Jackson failed to enforce the laws. That is just a short list, I am sure that if we really wanted to we could do a more exhaust list, including FDR who imprisoned American Citizens without trial, or LBJ and the Tonkin Bay.....talking about misleading a country into war????
