What constitutes a double standard?? We all have read about Eliot Spitzer's resignation from office because he had an extra-marital affair.
And we all know so full well of Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky. Yet he stayed in office, even though he was impeached.
I opened my TIME magazine and found a letter writer's response about Spitzer's resignation and how it compared to Bill Clinton.
Go figure, folks. The letter writer is right.
================================================== = A Crusader Crashes QUOTE: I can't help recalling Bill Clinton's impeachment. While the underlying circumstances of the events are different, they do share some common elements: marital infidelity and alleged criminal acts (perjury for Clinton and violation of the Mann Act for Spitzer). Isn't it curious that at the end of the day, Clinton stayed in office because of his popularity and Spitzer got thrown under the bus for his lack of it? It's little wonder the public has so little regard for elected officials. Scott Thompson, DALLAS Inbox - TIME Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105 |
