For some reason, bigots in this country are more prevalent among blacks and whites - though I understand that blacks have quite a hate-on for hispanics and asians, as well. So, it's only natural to use the "normal" racial bigotry when making an analogy - blacks and whites.
The high crime rate among blacks might have something to do with racism in America today too.
