The danger of attempting to study Philosophy from a mediocre college course, is that the student is merely learning by rote some ideas put forward more than 2,000 years ago. The Platitudes, as we call them, may well have seemed enlightening in those far off days, but the life style was entirely different to today, and many of the old ideas have been superceeded by better ones. They who walk in silence hang the innocent and set the guilty free. |
