of course, there are many that do. some of them post here. in fact, there is a majority that do. hopefully their voice can become loud enough that they can demand some changes.
and if universal health cover is brought in, those that opposed it will begin to wonder why they did. | If I have to pay an extra 10-20 dollars a week in taxes in order for everyone to have equal opportunities, I really don't have a problem with that. I can't understand those that do.
Here's an example....
A few years ago, the local CC (the only community college) wanted to pass a millage to help them retain programs, and not have to put limits on the number of students they admit. Now, this CC is where most of the local kids go. Most can't afford MSU or UofM or the other universities around.
It didn't pass.
When I heard that it didn't pass, I was so pissed, I emailed a scathing letter the the editor of the local paper. They published it.
I actually got a call from some idiot dude who tracked my phone number down, just so he could bitch at me about how we are over taxed, why should he have to pay for my kids going to CC when his kids are already in MSU, blah blah blah.
I hung up on the selfish son of a bitch.
Oh, and BTW, my son is on the waiting list to get into CC. Can you believe that?
I would just like to add that the millage would have cost property owners app. $35 per year extra. Big whoop.
