fxashun, i had a look at your ways to fix the health system you posted earlier.
has it occured to you that the system you propose is very similar to the kind of universal health insurance that others have been proposing and you have been opposing?
your system is one that collects tax from EVERYBODY through a 5% health sales tax and destributes the proceeds as medical services to anyone who need them. some will use more health care than others, but there will be services available for everybody. and if you want to top up your health care with additional monies thats fine.
this is a description of universal health provision. the arguments you have voiced apply to your own health system. your proposal demands that everyone pay for everyone elses health insurance every time they purchase. why? is it fair for you to have to pay 5% extra so strangers get health cover? apparently you think it is. is it the governments responsibility to collect this tax so everyone has access to free at point of service health care? apparently you think it is.
exactly what are you opposed to? your suggestion is a method of delivering universal health care. what else do you think universal health care is? |
