There is no reason to disallow polygamy - we have no problem with a man shacking up with five women...but if he wants to actually commit to all five of them, THEN he's in trouble. It's stupid.

There is no longer a reason to disallow incest - at one time it was believed (until fairly recently) that such unions produced flawed offspring, but it turns out that the problem is greatly exaggerated.

As with gay marriage, I believe that there would be very few opting for a polygamous marriage - and far fewer incestuous ones.

Having sex with animals is something that people who care more about such things can discuss. I have no interest.

Conservatism: Self-centered mean-spiritedness fueled by ignorance and misguided self-importance.

Bigotry is a social disease.

Legalized same-sex marriage almost certainly benefits those same-sex couples who choose to marry, as well as the children being raised in those homes. - David Blankenhorn is president of the New York-based Institute for American Values and the author of "The Future of Marriage."
