so what?
does that mean that the whole pro choice idea is tarnished? does that mean being pro choice is the same as being nazi? this may discredid one organisation, or a few people within one organisation, but so what? pro choice is a position held by a variety of people with a variety of opinions.
and waitingtables has another point, regarding the Bush family nazi connections. do nazi connections discredit the Bush family too?
(not that they need anything historical to discredit them, they do a fine job of discrediting themselves.) | Come now Dragon, play the game by the rules.
No double standards.
It is quite simple.
Follow the bouncing ball.
Trent Lott humored an old man at his 100th Birthday, therefore he is a racist, because good ole Strom in his younger days was once a racist.
Al Gore Sr, was a segregationist, his son apoligized, therefore he is not a racist.
Lott = Republican/Conservative
Gore JR = Democrat/Liberal.
If you are a Republican/Conservative, you can never ever ever ever forget you past, you are always and will always be held accountable.
If you are a Democrat/Liberal you only have to say I am sorry and appear teary eyed and all is forgiven.
By the way, I still have that beach front property in Death Valley for sale!!!
dmk Conservatism, I repeat is not an ideology. It does not breed fanatics....But if you want men who seek, reasonably and prudently, to reconcile the best in wisdom of our ancestors with the change which is essential to a vigorous civil social existence, then you will do well to turn to conservative principles -Russell Kirk- |
