After watching this issue go back and fourth in the house of representatives...it was suprising to hear the responses from both sides.

Republicans-
Visited Alaska reserves
Noticed thousands of acres of non-wildlife (because it has been reserved for oil over 15 years)
Supported energy reform while producing our own oil for demands
Creates thousands of new jobs (benefit)
Lowers gasoline prices (benefit)
Alaskan citizens believe we should start drilling now

Democrats-
Need energy reform
Animals will die
Wildlife will be destroyed(yet their hardly isnt any in the reserves)
We will still be dependent on foreign oil (no shit)
We need to introduce Hybrid vehicles and non-gasoline vehicles (What about houses that use oil for heating and cooking?)

The democrats will try and use the scare tactics to persuade people that drilling in Alaska is wrong. Don't fall for it.
